Here are some tips for the SCENERY section:
1. TAKE YOUR TIME

2. LIGHTING IS EVERYTHING
The amount of light present can make a huge impact on a photo. Good lighting will always make a picture stand out next to a dreary one.
3. WEATHER
Weather can predict so much about a photo. Some photos capture moments in weather that are truly amazing. For example, if you know a big storm is coming, wait for it and get to a safe dry area, and try to snap a picture of the beautiful, unique lightning.

The next section is Student Life:
1. BE RANDOM
Sometimes random photos that are not posed turn out really well. Think outside of the box and catch student life in the act. Be realistic. Explain student life through your photos. For example, BBQing at the dorms! This actually happens!
2. HAVE FUN
Student life pictures don't have to be serious. Student life is not all about doing homework. A good picture might include you hanging out and being yourself with a group of friends at the movie theater or even the beach.
3. CAPTURE DAY AND NIGHT LIFE
Having a variety of student life pictures is a great idea because it shows what students do in their non- free time and free time. This could be an awesome lab you did one day, or a fun time you had after school hours!
We are sure that no matter how you take your photos, that they will turn out great! Stay tuned for Part II of our photo contest tips next week.
