Before you start worrying about classes, projects, and professors you’re probably facing a much more pressing concern: What to wear to your first day of classes? While sweats and a tank may end up being your go to look as the year progresses, at least you can look your best on day one or the whole fall season. After all, you can only make one first impression! And who doesn’t look forward to pulling out boots and big comfy sweaters. Here are a few back to school looks for this fall.
Sun Dresses
Oh my word! They are my favorite, I have at least twenty different dresses. I have all different ones ranging from long, short, formal, beachy, and date night ones. It all just depends on what your kind of fashion taste you have for dresses. I really like anything I see and that I look good in.
Black on Black
This fall pairing black with black is going to be on trend, which many of us already do. If you’re new to wearing head to toe black try to keep it interesting by mixing different fabrics and patterns. Think leather with cotton, studded with sleek, etc. When you mix fabrics you don’t have to worry too much about whether the shade of black actually matches.
Jeans
Me as wearing jeans I don’t have many because I just don’t like how they feel. I am more of a girl who likes to wear dresses or shorts. But I do have a couple pairs. I have boot cut and some skinny jeans but they are tight skinny’s they are the boyfriend kind. I like the holes ripped in them and a lose feeling
Large Knit Sweaters
Is there anything cozier than a chunky knit sweater? Your bed doesn’t count. This season they’re in style which is good news for those days when you really just want to wear a hoodie to class but feel like you should make an effort for the cute boy you have a crush on. Like anything else, mind the proportions and keep it thinner on the bottom when you wear oversize sweaters.
Flannels
Flannels can be worn with mostly anything but be sure to not to overdo the look. What I like to do is wear a white or black tank top underneath with any flannel that has at least white or black in it with bold colors. Then for the bottoms I like to either wear black leggings, jeans, or shorts depending on the weather. And for shoes depending on what pants I choose I like to go with boots or a cute pair of sandals. But when I don’t want to wear my flannel I like to wrap it around my waist so I still have the flannel look.
Hair
You ladies can rock anything you want. My hair is naturally curly so I can get out of the shower and scrunch it. But on the days that I wear my dresses or go out on a date I like to do messy buns, braids, or straighten it. It is always okay to try new hair styles.
That is only just a couple things for you ladies, but wait… we can’t forget about our male college students. Guys also care about what they look like well let’s just say about 50% of the time. Whether it’s getting ready for a party or going to class, most guys can just roll out of bed, fix their hair, and throw something on.
Sweatpants/ Jeans
We get it. You’re tired. You don’t want to be in class. But those stretchy sweats you wear everyday makes you look like your high school gym teacher. If you insists on wearing sweatpants, just go spend a little extra money on nicer looking sweatpants that have the jean look to them. It is important to have several pant selections. You should have loose, tight, dark, and light pants. Have a pair that fits you well and makes you feel good about yourself.
Formal Wear
Vertically striped shirts are obvious. Worn in cotton button downs are always a good look. Get a pair of slacks that compliment your shirts, and a belt to pull it together.
